•Crews from Denver, Minnesota, and ISU are all Go
•A quick update this evening with new NAM and SREF model runs. I really would like to stay up for the GFS/SREF/SPC/WRF data, but not feasible given departure time. However, I am planning on making a super brief update tomorrow morning before departure mentioning SPC discussion, GFS 00Z, SREF 3z (?) and WRF simulated radar.
Biggest concern is will the CAPE break and will there be enough time for storms to mature before they reach more stable air away from the dryline. Near the triple point (intersection of dryline/cold front/trough), there should be plenty of forcing to overcome cap, but with cold front nearby will the storms be able to become supercellular.
Shear has continued to improve, at least looking at NAM for Dodge City (DDC) and to some extent up in Goodland (GLD). DDC has good directional shear and speed shear is approaching 50kts at 500mb. GLD has stronger winds at 500mb, although directional shear at surface isn’t as nice as DDC. GLD will likely be away from best CAPE. 0-1 and 0-3km helicity looks best after 00Z.
Below I have included some photos of this evenings get together with the mobile mesonets. Enjoy the photos!

Mobile Mesonet 2

My current understanding of the "plumber nightmare" of the mobile mesonets.

Why we don't allow Daryl to chase...(maintains the Iowa Environmental Mesonet (IEM; http://www.mesonet.agron.iastate.edu))
